Trauma Embolization Summit

Endovascular Strategies for Hemorrhage Control Across the Trauma Continuum

September 19, 2026 | 8:30 -11:30 am CST

Trauma Embolization Summit

Traumatic hemorrhage remains one of the most time-critical decisions an interventional radiologist makes, and the embolization approach varies significantly by organ, injury pattern, and available agent. This two-session summit brings together IRs actively managing trauma cases to walk through current technique, decision-making, and case experience across the full range of anatomic sites — from solid organ injury to pelvic, thoracic, and lymphatic trauma.

Session 1 builds the foundation: embolization principles and toolbox selection, then organ-specific management of kidney, liver, splenic, and aortic trauma, closing with a faculty panel discussion. Session 2 extends into pelvic, thoracic, caval, peripheral, and lymphatic injury, and closes with two case-based talks comparing agent selection — liquid embolics and coil/plug techniques — in live trauma scenarios.
